Shenfest 2021

Although we still have plenty of challenges ahead over the next weeks and months we are still hopeful of delivering some or all of our Shenfest programme this year – please see attached.

After the year we have all had, if ever there was a year when a community festival was needed it is this year !!!

It is our normal eclectic mix …. which will hopefully have something for everyone.

Please note that this year the Authors event is separated from the other events and is in mid June (our normal timing) but everything else have been pushed back to the first weekend in July.

Nearer the time we will confirm, via this village email, whether we are able to put on some or all of these events and what, if any, COVID related rules and restrictions may apply.

In the meantime if you know of anyone who would like to Sponsor the festival to help cover the costs please get in touch.

Message From Shenington Surgery

Shenington surgery would like residents to be reassured that the vaccination programme is currently being organised and they have put a message on their website which I have copied:

'UPDATE 6.1.2020 - COVID Vaccine Update No. 2 - Firstly, Happy New Year to all our patients and their families. We understand that a lot of our patients want to be vaccinated as soon as possible. We want this for our patients and for our staff at the practice. Please rest assured we are doing all we can to work with local health services to arrange vaccinations for our patients. We would like to ask you all to please be patient and wait to be contacted. It would really help us & other patients if you could keep the phone lines clear at the practice by not calling to ask about the vaccine. For further information please see a link to the latest information from public health. We thank you very much for your patience.'

Happy New Year

Just a short message to wish you all a Happy New Year. Although we are going into 2021 with lots of restrictions and difficulties we also have great hope with the vaccination. The communities of Shenington and Alkerton came together brilliantly last year and provided support to many residents. Please don't forget that if you are self isolating for any reason or you are just finding things a bit tough you can get help.
